Serious Grand Touring
The 1290 Super Duke GT is a half-faired version of the naked bike that is
aimed at touring riders and comes with a 6-gallon tank and an advanced
electronics package while the 1290 Super Duke R Special Edition is a
stock Super Duke R with a bunch of Power Parts stuck on it.

Beefed Up Little Guy
The Milan show was a strange
affair for KTM as the firm had
already shown its new bikes in
prototype form. The 690 Duke
and Duke R have received a
significant engine update with
the bore increased and stroke
reduced (capacity remains at
690cc), re-designed head and
extra balancer shaft to reduce
the vibrations. The R also adds
cornering ABS and traction
control to the mix as well as
an uprated chassis, Akrapovic
pipe, 2 hp and orange frame.
