The clutch has a relatively light
pull, excellent feel and has so far
withstood a fair amount of low-
speed abuse.
Not only did Yamaha redesign
the X's exhaust pipe for perfor-
mance but also for protection.
It's been reshaped so it doesn't
hang as low or stick out as much
as the YZ's pipe; that's to keep it
from getting smashed by rocks
and trees as much. It's also just
plain beefy. After a couple of
rides, the pipe on our bike still
looks brand new.
In case you're wondering, the
muffler is not fitted with a spark
arrester, and the YZ250X falls
