VOL. 52 ISSUE 44 NOVEMBER 3, 2015 P41
in line with ever-tightening
emissions targets in Europe.
On the chassis side the
Thruxton gets similar hardware
to the T120 but the Thruxton R
gets fully-adjustable Showa Big
Piston Fork front suspension in
gold, Öhlins twin rear shocks,
twin Brembo four-piston
Monobloc calipers and Brembo
master-cylinder and floating
discs, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso
Corsa tires as standard. And
both bikes get the super-cool,
old-school Monza style gas
tank cap (these were used
extensively from the '50s to the
end of the '70s in racing).
The Thruxton R also gets an
additional painted seat cowl,
polished top yoke, aluminum
tank strap and clear anodized
aluminum swingarm.
Triumph has also made
available two separate kits for
the Thruxton and Thruxton R—
The Track Racer and The Café
Racer. The Track Racer kit
comprises a sculpted cockpit
fairing with lower clip-on
handlebars, single painted seat
cowl (only for the Thruxton as
already standard on Thruxton R),
rear mudguard removal kit with
compact light, compact LED
turn signals, Vance & Hines slip
on silencers, knurled handlebar
grips and a leather tank strap.
The Café Racer kit comes the
Vance & Hines exhaust, lower
clips-ons, turn signals and single
seat cowl, but also Triumph
rubber knee pads and a short
tinted fly screen.
Triumph hasn't yet made the
MSRP available (nor has it for
the T120 range and Street
Twin). CN
IS GETTING MORE OF EVERYTHING FOR 2016.
