MOTOCROSS MONSTER ENERGY MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS SEPTEMBER 26-27, 2015 ERNEE CIRCUIT / ERNEE, FRANCE P94 the perfect representation of just how close these two na- tions were, when after three long motos, filled with intense battles, they were separated by just one tiny second. Of course none of the ecstatic French crowd cared too much about that, as they, once again, fired up their various noise-making devices, and headed over to the podium to catch sight of their heroes re- ceiving the Chamberlain Trophy. "Today was my favorite type of racing," Barcia said. "It was aggressive and clean, and I like nervous crowd knowing that if he passed Paulin in front of him, the Chamberlain Trophy would be heading back across the Atlan- tic. The gap was too big though, and Paulin crossed the line first, cueing amazing celebrations both on and off the track. As the riders hugged each other, popping champagne, security whisked them off to the podium just before the swarming masses reached them. The official margin of vic- tory was two points, but actu- ally it was even closer than that because Webb was just one second behind Paulin at the checkered flag. It was almost were on the move, knocking off positions and closing in on the vulnerable Paulin. It was the rookie, Webb, who was actually the faster of the two, passing Barcia who was quite happy to let the youngster attack at his own pace. Moments after though, Webb stalled his bike, wasting what turned out to be a crucial couple of seconds as he kick-started it back to life. Barcia still continued to charge and eventually made it up to third, passing Paulin and Evengy Bobryshev and closing right up on a resurgent Ben Townley. Webb tried his hardest to make up for that minor error, with the Marvin Musquin played a big role in Team France's victory.
