IN THE WIND P36 MARTIN'S RECORD ATTEMPT ON HOLD G uy Martin's hopes of landing the World Motor- cycle Land Speed Record at Bonneville will have to wait another year with news Triumph Mo- torcycles is postponing its attempt on the record until 2016. Martin is still recovering following a massive crash at the Ulster Grand Prix last week in which the Lincolnshire rider suffered a broken back, sternum and ribs, and with the questionable condition of the salt at Bonneville. Triumph has decided not to push fate and will stay in England before a full attempt on the record next year. "We're obviously concerned with the news that Guy has sustained injuries as a result of his crash in last week's Dundrod 150 race. While in true form, Guy has signed himself out of hospital this week, we all feel that given his injuries it won't be possible to complete the required testing prior to attempting to take the record this year," Triumph said in a statement. "Guy is a unique talent and having such a pilot for our Rocket motorcycle is absolutely central to our attempt. We wish him a full and speedy recovery and will confirm a new date for our 2016 bid as soon as we can." CN No record attempt for Guy this year… 10 TIMES A CHAMPION J ordan Szoke has won his 10th Canadian Super- bike Championship after completing a perfect season by taking the win in all seven races in the 2015 championship. Riding the Mopar Express Lane/BMW S 1000 RR, Szoke took the final win of the season at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park by defeating Kawasaki ZX-10R rider Kenny Riedmann. It's the second time Szoke has completed a perfect sea- son, his earlier milestone coming in 2010. "It's one thing to win a race; it's another thing to win a perfect season," said Szoke after his 12th career victory at CTMP and 52nd overall in Canadian Superbike competition. "What an amaz- ing feat for the whole team! Most of the races this year have been wicked just like this one. I'm looking forward to repeating this next year." Riedmann would not go home emp- ty handed however, as he clinched the Pro Sport Bike championship aboard a Castrol Triumph Daytona 675R, his second straight title. Riedmann fended off Ben Young and Will Hornblower, to take the title by 47 points. Jordan Szoke wrapped up another Canadian Superbike title.
