MOTOGP MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10/AUGUST 9, 2015 INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY/INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA P66 ROOKIE REWARDED The middle-class race was every- thing that it usually should be but sel- dom is: a big group fighting tooth-and- nail for the lead all the way to the end. Class rookie Alex Rins on the Paginas Amarillas Kalex had qualified on pole for the second time this year, from defender Tito Rabat on the E-G Marc VDS Kalex and last year's Indy winner Mika Kallio on the Italtrans Kalex, in a rare return to form. Conditions were iffy, with the track still not completely dry, and bravery won out in the early laps as Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin on the Petronas Kalex pushed through from the fifth row of the grid to lead the first lap, with Speed Up's Sam Lowes on his tail and sometimes ahead. After five laps both were still with the leading group and Syahrin in front again, joined by points leader Johann Zarco on the Ajo Kalex, Technomag Kalex' Dominique Aegerter, Rins, briefly Azlan Shah on the Idemitsu Kalex, Rabat and Italtrans Kalex' Fran- co Morbidelli, the rest close behind. Meanwhile early leader Julian Simon on the QMMF Speed Up machine had already fallen, remounting only to crash again. Next time 'round, Zarco was in front, then on lap 10 Aegerter took over for the first of two good spells up front. By half distance, it was Aegerter from Zarco and Rins, with Rabat close behind from Syahrin, Morbidelli and Lowes, with Thomas Luthi on the Derendinger Kalex closing. It was still anybody's race, although Kallio was also absent, crashing after a touch with Lowes. Rins led for the first time on lap 15; two laps later it was Aegerter again, scrapping with Lowes, while Rabat was ahead of Rins. Lowes was just off the back of the group, but slipped off while trying to close up while fending
