VOL. 52 ISSUE 32 AUGUST 11, 2015 P65 BY MICHAEL SCOTT PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE I f the 2015 season is set for a cliff-hanger finale—and the law of averages suggests that it is— then the Indianapolis Grand Prix took us all one step closer to the edge of the precipice. The iconic Brickyard laid on a feast of varied racing. A crowd of some 67,000 may have been dwarfed by the grandstands with seating for another 183,000 absentees, and they may have been punished by muggy, rainy weather. But they shared in three races, each extraordinary in its own way. Moto3 was completely bizarre, as rain came then went at the worst possible time; Moto2 was for once a mass front-running battle more like the junior class, and the MotoGP race was, well, iconic. Two pairs dominated, and the Marquez (93) got off the line cleanly but Lorenzo (99) would keep the world champion at bay for all but three laps.
