IN THE WIND P26 VIBA LARA 800 ––A NEW WAY FOR MV? C ould this be a prototype for a new MV Agusta scram- bler? A trio of Frenchmen have concocted the first dual purpose MV Agusta, using the three- cylinder 800 Brutale model as the basis for creating the Viba Lara 800. Viba owner Jean-Michel Sanchez—a businessman based in Blois, France's Loire Valley— designer Yann Bakony and his colleague Bruno Vigezzi have together created a hand-built three-cylinder street scrambler producing 125 bhp at 11,600 rpm and 59lb-ft of torque at 8600 rpm, of which just 23 ex- amples will be made. With one bike already apparently sold, that leaves a further 22 available for the not inconsiderable price of £32,310 ($35,873) excluding tax, with a £10,000 ($11,102) de- posit taken at the time of order. Retaining the stock Brutale 800 chassis, the Lara 800 has been fitted with an aluminum fuel tank and a shortened rear subframe to carry an all-new leather covered 32-inch high single seat, with a passenger seat and footpegs available as an option. The handmade Zard 3-1 exhaust is ceramic coated to reduce heat by 30 percent, while the Lighthouse LED head- light with aluminum casing is protected by a wire mesh grille that's been machined from solid alloy, with a corresponding LED rear light. The specially made center-mounted ELKA coil-over monoshock rear suspension has been adapted for dual Meet the new limited addition Viba Lara, a French designed dual sport based off of a MV Agusta Brutale 800.
