VOL. 52 ISSUE 29 JULY 21, 2015 P77
Briefly...
The day after the Millville race, on
Sunday, Ryan Dungey hosted a
charity bike ride and run for the St.
Jude Hospital called the St. Jude
Ride MN Major and 5K to raise mon-
ey for St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital.
Andrew Short returned to action at
Millville after a lengthy recovery pe-
riod after breaking his patella during
the Supercross season. The BTO
KTM rider went 16-15 for 14
th
overall.
Cole Seely returned to action after
a leg injury kept him off the bike for
a couple of races. Unfortunately,
Seely fell in the second practice ses-
sion and injured his shoulder, forcing
the HRC Factory Honda rider to sit
out the Millville race. The extent of
Seely's injury is not fully known, but
he will have the shoulder evaluated
on Monday, July 20.
GEICO Honda's rookie Jordan
Smith had a spectacular day, finish-
ing fifth in the second moto and sev-
enth overall. "I had some bad luck
in the first moto, Christian Craig and
I got together on the first lap, and I
ripped my whole brake pedal off,"
said Smith. "I had no rear brakes
from the first lap of the first moto and
just stayed in 12th pretty much the
whole moto." In the second moto,
with the brakes fixed, Smith got off
to a top-five start. "I was running right
up there with the front guys," Smith
said. "I was right behind Savatgy.
They pulled away a little bit, and then
I caught them some at the end. It
was a good day overall. Definitely
moving in the right direction."
Californian Blake Baggett has been
