result is a rider who is forceful and
tough but knows how to be steady
and consistent at the same time—a
deadly combination for his competi-
tors. But had it not been for Barcia,
the 450 class would have been a
sleeper of a race up front.
"Barcia's going good," said Dung-
ey. "He's got some confidence from
winning the last two races and then
obviously beating me straight up at
Red Bud. There were some things
at RedBud we needed to fine tune
and that's what we were able to do
this week. It seems like he always
gets good starts and he opens up
good. He's got that intensity so
therefore I'm going to have to match
that and then some."
"In the second moto I was about
fifth," Dungey said. "I got shuffled
back and then I made the passes
happen real quick. I found myself
on Barcia and it took about four

making practice a muddy mess with
a deep one-lined groove develop-

nice sunny sky dominating the day
on Saturday and a track crew that
stayed on top of the situation, the
track was in perfect condition by
the second motos, making for some
excellent racing.
450 National
Dungey has won twice at his home
race but had never swept both mo-
tos, which he finally accomplished
this Saturday. Dungey was perhaps
the most aggressive we've seen
him all year, too, which perhaps
suggests a change in his strat-
egy over years past. Even with a
50-point lead coming into the race,
Dungey was throwing everything he
had at Justin Barcia, who grabbed
the holeshots in both motos, which
is something he really didn't have
to do, having such a large points
lead. But Dungey is out to win races
now, and instead of waiting for op-
portunities, he's making them. The
