take a gamble on tires, selecting
the hitherto hardly used extra-
hard front that was a last-minute
addition to Bridgestone's usual
allocation; a nervous response
to a heat wave in the preced-
ing days. Race day was indeed
hotter than the previous two, and
"I wanted to have something for
the last lap," Marquez explained.
