another rider in the first test of the opening
day. Renet was taken to the hospital with an
injured shoulder, and did not score any points
in Belgium. Renet's absence left the door
wide open for Meo, although the Frenchman
admitted that not having his close rival to
battle with made it difficult to focus.
"Honestly I felt a little off my game when
Pela crashed because that completely
changed my outlook on the championship
fight," Meo said. "Overall it's great to come
away with two more wins and now the title is
looking more in reach for France."
The extent of Renet's injuries aren't yet clear,
but fortunately the Frenchman has the longest
break in the season to recover, as the next and
final stop of the championship isn't until Octo-
ber 3.
CHRIS BACH'S
WEC EXPERIENCE
J
CR Honda's Chris Bach took advantage of the
break in the GNCC series to get his feet wet
in the Enduro World Championship. As a guest
of the RedMoto Honda team in Europe, Bach
competed in the Grand Prix of Belgium in the E2
division aboard a CRF450R. Although his results
didn't set the world on fire, Bach had a respect-
able outing, carding 14
th
and 12
th
place finishes.
It proved to be a valuable learning experience for
Bach, who reported, "Here you need the mo-
torcycle to handle a certain way. Doing well has
nothing to do with how many ponies you have
under the hood."
