Barcia used his exceptional mud-
riding skills to come away with
his first-ever 450-class win (and first
on a Yamaha) in less than desirable
conditions. This week at RedBud,
the AutoTrader.com/Toyota/Yamaha
rider proved that last week's win was
not just a fluke of the conditions, us-
ing raw speed and great conditioning
to outrun series point leader Ryan
Dungey in the second moto to come
away with overall win number two via
2-1 moto finishes on what were ideal
conditions for racing.

cia's season has been less than
spectacular, as the New York-born
rider struggled to come to terms with
his new bike, having switched during
the off-season from Honda to the
JGR Yamaha. Last week something
clicked for Barcia and his crew, and
he carried the momentum from his
Budds Creek win into RedBud where
he looked like the Barcia of old, feet
off the pegs and absolutely railing
the course with wild, but somewhat
controlled abandon. At least that's
the way it looked from the outside.
