AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 52 ISSUE 26 JUNE 30, 2015 P105 healthy and I look forward to Laguna Seca. I'll take away a little consolation battle with Josh there those first couple laps. These guys rode good and we need to improve a little bit still, I look forward to Laguna." DAY'S DAY After a victory in his first go with the Yamalube/Westby Racing squad, it has been a rough road plagued with crashes and tech- nical problems. But finally, Josh Day had his day, and scored two Superstock 1000 wins. "It's definitely a lot better for us this weekend," Day said. "I wish we could have found our main problem with the front a lot sooner so we could have been up there for a couple other races, but it is what it is. That's how racing goes sometimes, but now we got it all sorted pretty well. Should be good for us from now on out for the rest of the year." For Day the turning point for himself and his team was as much of a relief as the return to the top of the box. "Yeah, we definitely made a huge turning point this weekend as far as getting the feel on the bike that I've really been chasing all year," he said after race one. "We've been trying all kinds of different things and we could never seem to get anything to work well for me. We were just always pushing as hard as we could and I think that's why we had so many falls leading up to this weekend. It's usually not like me to fall that much so it was getting a little bit frustrating for me as well. It felt really good to be able to pull through with a win this weekend and be able to be up there with Jake and challenge him almost until the end." On the flip side it was not Jake Gagne's day. The RoadRace Factory rider took a huge hit in the championship after a me- chanical in race one and a crash in race two while battling with Yoshimura Suzuki's Jake Lewis for fourth. Gagne's misfortune did, however, work in Taylor Knapp's favor, as the TOBC Racing Yamaha rider's pair of podiums (2-3) closed the gap on the Su- perstock 1000 points leader to just 17 points from 44 going into the weekend.
