MORE QUESTIONS THAN
ANSWERS FOR HERRIN
Herrin left Barber scratching
his head. This was the race he
figured he'd win and take over
the series lead. He was fast and
could pass Beach both days,
especially in turn five but he
couldn't hold his line and make
it stick. He burned his tire up
with the pace he set early in
Saturday's race. He was more
conservative and preserved his
tires better in race two, but the
results were ultimately the same.
"The most disappointing thing
is we were so fast in qualifying,"
Herrin explained. "To take two
second place finishes is great,
but it seems like after being so
fast in qualifying, and in my opin-
ion, not doing well in the race,
really bums me out. At the end
of the day I'm happy I stayed
consistent. That's how I won my
Superbike championship, being
fast, but also being consistent

starters. "This is my first one," Her-
rin said of his pole. "It's a good feel-

Qualifying usually doesn't mean that
much to me. With how the schedules
are, sometimes I think it's a waste of
time to push that hard just before the
race, but it makes me real confident
going into the race for sure."
Joe Roberts scored the pole in the

a time of 1:28.716. Bryce Prince and
Richie Escalante shared the front
row with Roberts.
M4 MPH Suzuki's Melissa Paris ex-
plained that her Barber Motorsports
Park performance was particularly
inspired due to the tremendous sup-
port she enjoyed during a recent
successful crowdfunding campaign
to secure the funding she required to
complete the '15 season. Paris said,
"Over the past month or so, we had
the Dark Horse Pros campaign and
it ended just before the weekend
started. Over 300 people contrib-
uted and that meant a lot to me. Now
I can finish the season and I am feel-
ing very inspired. I feel like I am rac-
ing for the people that helped me."
