MUSQUIN'S UPS AND DOWNS Martin's biggest competitor thus far has been the fast Frenchmen Mar- vin Musquin, who won the first moto with seemingly ease by riding very intelligently and smoothly on the Muddy Creek track. But his good first moto was nulled by a crash in the second moto. Musquin ran into trouble early in the second moto when he went down in the first turn. He remount- ed in just about last place to begin a charge that was nothing less than extraordinary. The Red Bull KTM Team rider came up through the pack using some creative lines to land fourth, enough for second overall. "You know when you are trying to come back like that, it's a lot differ- ent (than controlling the race with a lead.)," Musquin said of the second moto. "You've got to pass those guys." It was impressive work by the former World Champion.
