LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 4 / JUNE 6, 2015
MUDDY CREEK RACEWAY / BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE
P98
sity, and both have overcome
those adversities well. Right now,
Martin controls the champion-
ship but not by much. Martin
leads Musquin by just six points.
FULL NELSON
Rounding out the 250 podium
was Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Design
KTM's Jessy Nelson who looks
to have newfound confidence
and it's definitely showing on the
track, where he looked to be
gaining endurance, as well. This
is something that he has been
struggling with since returning
from an injury earlier in the year.
"I was getting a little fatigued,
and then it took a lap or two to
kind of like jump through the
bumps and cruise, and then I
just started laying the wood," he
said. "I'm glad I finished strong
and ended up second."
PLESSINGER IMPRESSES
Rookie Aaron Plessinger had a
standout day. He showed exactly
why the Yamalube/Star Racing
Yamaha squad signed this guy
a few years ago while he was
still an amateur. He grabbed the
second-moto holeshot and im-
mediately pulled a small gap on
the field, leading for the first time
in his career for an impressive
seven laps. He would eventu-
ally succumb to his teammate
Jeremy Martin and then fade a
bit, but he showed potential and
probably gained a lot of confi-
dence.
"Leading all those laps, it was
amazing," he said. "It was new
to me, and a good experience.
I had a lot of fun. I kind of got a
little hot and then faded. These
guys are going really, really fast,
and it is definitely going to take
some speed to stay up there the
whole moto. I think by the end
of this season I'll have it, and
maybe get a podium!"
CIANCIARULO
SHOWS THE SPEED
Adam Cianciarulo had a good
but disappointing day. While
running second in the first moto,
he high-sided out of a rut, throw-
ing him down on the Muddy
Creek soil and also throwing
away a possible podium finish.
He remounted for fifth.
In the second moto, the
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/
Kawasaki Team rider mounted
a charge that eventually got him
third place. Unfortunately for
him it was just shy of a podium,
but he has shown that if he can
keep it on two wheels, he is a
force to be reckoned with.
