TEAM USA HEADS
TO ENGLAND FOR
FIM SPEEDWAY
WORLD CUP
T
eam USA manager Billy Hamill
announced his team of four riders
and one reserve for the FIM Speedway
World Cup. In a few days the team will
travel to King's Lynn, England, for event
two of the Monster Energy Speedway
World Cup set for Monday, June 8,
against powerful teams from Great Brit-
ain, Australia and Latvia.
The 2015 version of Team USA is a
blend of proven talent and youthful en-
thusiasm, led by three-time and defend-
ing World Champion Greg Hancock.
Hancock's teammates are Ryan Fisher,
31, currently competing for the Plymouth
Devils; Gino Manzares, 21, a Yankee on
the upswing with the Ipswich Witches;
and 18-year-old wonder kid Max Ruml
who is racing the California circuit.
The reserve is Broc Nicol, 17, another
talented young rider emerging from local
California tracks.
Team USA captain Hancock and man-
ager Hamill have taken the team under
their respective wings and exceeded
expectations by finishing fifth and sixth in
the world the past two years. The duo raced to-
gether on the GP circuit and World Cup, are now
sharing their years of experience to accelerate the
development of the young American team.
"Greg has been unbelievably positive about rac-
ing for America and relating to the young guys,"
said Hamill. "He brings so much professionalism
and enthusiasm to the team. I see so much of
Greg and myself in these young riders. Having
this opportunity to race with the world's elite is
the best way to develop their speedway skills and
careers."
The winners of events one and two join host
nation Denmark in the Monster Energy Speedway
World Cup Final in Vojens, Denmark, on June 13.
The second and third placed teams line up in the
Race Off at the legendary Danish track on June 11
with only the winner going to the final.
