Change Of Events
Even though Dungey took over
the points lead, it's only a three-
point margin over Tomac, and
early reports are that Tomac
hopes to be racing at Muddy
Creek. However, he will no
doubt have to deal with pain
and instability in the shoulder; in
most cases, once you dislocate
your shoulder, it has the ten-
dency to dislocate again much
easier, often times without even
falling. Surgery is usually the
only true fix. But we will see after
he undergoes more evaluation
on the shoulder.
Even though Dungey strug-
gled to keep Tomac in sight be-
fore his crash, he and his team
felt they made improvements
from last week. The team tested
in Florida following the Glen
Helen National.
"I made some changes going
back to Florida this week on the
bike, which were more ben-
efiting," said Dungey. "I hadn't
had sticky conditions like this
and practice was kind of a little
deeper, a little snaky. Ruts were
deeper and everything. So we
adjusted to that and second
practice times were right there.
Everything was good. I think we
ended up second. The track
was nasty. This year things are
getting rougher. The tracks get
rougher, and not that it's a fear
thing but the risk goes up when
you do that. You have to be di-
aled. I think we're all just pushing
the pace really fast, especially
Eli. He definitely had set the
tone for this year so far. So we
all have to raise our game up
even if it feels uncomfortable."
As each series goes forward,
Dungey seems to get more con-
fidence and take more chances.
"You know what's your limit
and what's not," added Dungey.
"You know when things are
getting sketchy. Definitely today
