he certainly has the support of
the Colorado fans every time he
races there. But, as they say,
this is motocross, and anything
can happen at anytime. And it
did.
At first, Tomac dominated
the first moto just like everyone
thought he would do, jumping
out to an early lead on the fast
and deeply rutted track and fin-
ishing with a 14-second cushion
over runner-up Ryan Dungey,
who had passed early leader
Ken Roczen on the next-to-last
lap after a race-long battle.
Yoshimura Suzuki's Blake
Baggett ended the moto in
fourth, with RCH Soaring Eagle/
Jimmy Johns/Suzuki rider Broc
Tickle and Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing's
Jason Anderson fifth and sixth,
respectively.
In the second moto, Tomac,
once again, jumped out to a
quick lead, building an 11-sec-
ond gap over defending champ
Roczen by lap seven. It looked
like another Tomac runaway—un-
til he suddenly went down. Hard!
