end of the show. In this case it
was Herrin planting his Wheels
in Motion/Motosport.com/Meen
Yamaha R6 on the rear wheel
of leader Beach's bike and just
waiting for the climatic last-lap
opportunity. That opportunity did
come, the only twist in the script
was it didn't happen exactly the
way Herrin had it planned.
"I was thinking about another
spot earlier in the lap to try to
make the move, but it just didn't
work out, Herrin explained. "It
came down to where I passed
him was about the only place
I had left to try. I just sort of
squeezed in there and closed
my eyes and hoped that it
worked."
Beach was despondent say-
ing he totally gave up the race
by leaving the opening. "I knew
he was going to try it there and
it was totally my fault for leaving

lap pass on Beach
to take the win in
race one.
