VOL. 52 ISSUE 19 MAY 12, 2015 P57
Now you can have two MVs—
maybe a four-cylinder F4 RR
for sport riding, and a Turismo
Veloce or Stradale three-cylinder
800 for everyday use. Now you
have a choice."
However, it's understood that
the main reason the bike has
taken two years to reach produc-
tion after it was first displayed at
Milan 2013 is that there was a
change in direction quite late in
its development, after Castiglioni
realized it was too highly focused
on aggressive performance, and
not enough on rideability and
practicality.
Originally developed as a
concept around MV's current
F4 four-cylinder platform before
being adapted to the 800cc
version of the company's trade-
mark three-cylinder motor (an F4
version will come in due course,
after MV's four-cylinder model
range is extensively revamped
around an all-new engine due
next year) the Turismo Veloce
houses a comprehensively rede-
veloped version of the compact
Tre Pistoni motor measuring
79 x 54.3 mm for a capacity of
798cc.
