Haaker and Webb went into the
night tied on points but left with
Haaker gaining a two (instead of a
possible three) point advantage.
"I didn't get the Hot Lap, but
I knew if I could get the hole-
shot [in the main event] I could
control the race from there," said
Haaker. "But, because of the
lappers, the wood pile and the
difficult track, it wasn't easy."
"It was really tough to get
around the lappers," said Webb.
"I rode really good all night and
I caught up to Colton, and then

riders for their own championship
within a championship. Tremaine fin-
ished a career best fifth in Las Vegas
and looks to be closing the gap on
the top riders in the series. Noah
Kepple, another teenager working
through the ranks, qualified for his
second main event in a row in Las
Vegas and finished 13th.
Canada's Ryan Graffunder took the
win in the Open Amateur class over
Austin Schiermeister and Steve
Deines. Stephen Foord, another
Canadian rider, won the Vet class
over Rich Black and Jason Gitchel.
Jack Field took the TrialsCross win
and threw in a few backflips to keep
it exciting for the fans. One of those
backflips that he performed dur-
ing the actual race, however, came
up a little short, putting him on the
ground. He had enough of a lead to
get up and get going again before
getting passed. Michael Salsman
and Kieth Adams rounded out the
podium.
X Games held a first ever Step Up
qualifier in conjunction with the Las
Vegas EnduroCross and a few of the
EnduroCross regulars took a shot at
earning an invite to Austin. Of the 12
participants, only three would make
the cut. New Jersey's Wally Palmer,
