"At that point, it was just
regroup; when I got up, I don't
know, it just took me off my
game a little bit, plus Ryan was
riding great, too. We had an
identical pace, I think. That was
it when I dumped it over. We
were just pushing each other, I
think it was a comfortable pace
for us, I just made a mistake. In
the beginning, I thought I had a
little bit better line in the whoops,
and then I got close to him on
the Dragon Back, but never
made a move, I thought I'd wait."
He did make a move on the
section of the track outside the
stadium. "That was a lot of fun,"
Tomac said. "I got him on the
inside and then he slingshot
back through; it was just fun
at that point because we both

Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvar-
na's Jason Anderson was third fast-
est in 450 qualifying, but decided to
sit the night out after crashing hard
during one of his practice sessions.
He finished off his 450 rookie year
seventh overall. "I was having a good
practice," said Anderson. "I felt re-
ally good on the track but came into
a corner, slid out and hit the ground
pretty hard and decided to call it a
night. I'm focusing on outdoors, and
have been riding that really well, so I
didn't want to take a risk tonight."
Red Bull KTM's Justin Hill sat out
the East/West Shootout after crash-
ing during his 250 West heat race.
Hill hit his head in the fall and, even
though he passed the required con-
cussion test, he chose to skip the
Shootout and start planning for the
outdoors.
