Regal and Babbitt's/Mon-
ster Energy Kawasaki's
Jacob Hayes came into the
finale of the 2015 Amsoil Aren-
across Championship tied in
points. One night of racing was
going to determine, once and
for all, who the champ would be.
Regal and Hayes both attended
the Friday press conference
at Sam Boyd Stadium on their
race day to talk about what was
to come that night. While they
seemed relatively cordial with
one another, that feeling was put
in perspective once it became
known that Regal refused the
ride from Feld over to Sam Boyd
with Hayes, and instead opted to
drive his own truck.
"It's a deal where it came out
of nowhere [earlier in the se-
ries]," Regal said. "Like it was
the second or third round he
landed on me. And then they
change his opening-ceremony
video to Kyle Regal everything—
crashing, burning my picture and
stuff like that—and that doesn't
go over well for me and it fires
me up every weekend."
There was no love lost be-
tween the two title rivals heading
into the night program.
