WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 17 APRIL 28, 2015 P65
and I went down. I tried to be re-
ally safe and qualify for the main
because anything can happen,
even with 20 points. Even with
24 points lead—you DNF the
main event and then the guy in
second place wins and it's over.
That's racing and anything can
happen, but obviously 20 points
was quite a bit. But then I made
it safe and got fourth.
"I was ready for the main," he
added. "I started the main like
I wanted to win. I got a great
start. I was second right behind
Justin. It was really cool to battle
with Justin. We actually haven't
really battled together this year.
It was a great race. He was rid-
ing good, but I knew I was better
than him and I could do better
things than him on the track. I
was trying to be smooth, try-
ing to read the track, find new
lines. He pulled away a little bit
because with the lappers, and
made some mistakes in the
whoops. Then I charged pretty
hard and made some good
passes and then I passed him
over there and then tried to be
safe and win the main event."
Bogle was obviously disap-
pointed in his season and how
he finished up in New Jersey.
"The whole GEICO Honda
team has been incredible," said
Bogle. "But that hurts bad, los-
ing races like that. I'm capable
of winning and that really doesn't
feel good. Losing that number-
one plate, losing tonight, that
hurts deep."
Bogle felt he had the win in the
bag, but near the end of the race
the Honda rider tightened up.
"It was a good race," said
Bogle. "I tightened up there at
the end; I'm very, very frustrated
with myself with how the end of
that race went. I felt like I was
good enough to get that win. But
congratulations to Marvin. He
was the better man this season
for sure. Nothing I can do but
keep working. That's just going to
fuel the fire because that hurts."
Joey Savatgy, on the other
hand, was quite pleased after
finishing third on his Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki,
despite spending most of the
race in a tough battle with Jer-
emy Martin.
"It was a struggle, man," said
Savatgy. "To be on the box at the
end of the day is always good
but just one of those days where
things didn't click. I want more.
To be getting third is good, but
we work too hard to be getting
third. Obviously third is good
but second's better and winning
is ideal. I've got some things to
Broc Tickle (20), here
in practice, grabbed
sixth in the main,
while Chad Reed (22)
withdrew with a sore
shoulder.
