INTERVIEW KAILUB RUSSELL P88 they're not doing better than they are. That means there's room for improvement. If you're kind of satisfied with being back there then that's what kind of bugs me. But I feel like we've got a good group of guys and I feel like we can bring a lot to the table this year. The new Full Gas Sprint En- duro series tries to replicate the ISDE format. How much does that series help you get prepared for riding Six Days? I think it helps a lot just be- cause it's similar to the format without the transfer, and it's short sprints. Just the way the format is, to the tests and every- thing, they're very similar. I think that's what American off-road is lacking. We've got good riders and riders that are good at na- tional enduros and GNCCs, and those guys come over here and we're beating them. But when we go do that stuff we don't have the same intensity levels throughout the tests. I know it's good for myself and all the guys that are going to be on the team to be able to go and kind of get a warm-up in and to get used to that format. It's really fun. I enjoy riding it. It's really close racing. The first two that's ever been here, myself, [Josh] Strang and [Daniel] Milner have been top three on the podium the same results. It's been really good and a lot of fun. I enjoy that. Hopeful- ly it gets bigger, because I think it'd be good for the future too of ISDE and getting American riders more used to that format, and a little bit faster. I think it's good. CN Russell is the son of former National Enduro Champion Jeff Russell. "I BEAT MYSELF UP PRETTY HARD, ESPECIALLY WHEN I LOSE. I'M SO USED TO WINNING AND LOSING'S KIND OF UNACCEPTABLE."
