work on. I know the team wants
to win and I'm doing everything
I can to get them a win. It's frus-
trating. I know how much work
they put in, and how much work
I put in. It's just one of those
deals where I struggled today."
As for Martin, Savatgy said
they were "playing some games
near the end of the race."
"It was one of those things
where I got into the protective
mode and he was running it in
on me," said Savatgy. "I had to
make sure that I protected the
inside lines. He probably thought
I was just going out of my way to
slow him down, but I'm not going
to let him by. I've got to protect
my lines. I'm not going to let
someone bully their way around
me to get on the podium spot
when I feel like I deserve to be
there as well. It's one of those
deals. I'm going to go talk to him
a little bit and see what the deal
is. Don't want him too mad."
Martin settled for fourth, while
GEICO Honda's RJ Hampshire,
one of the team's rookies, was a
solid fifth.
"Wrapping up the season on a
high note," Hampshire said. "We
pulled it together with 15 solid
laps. That's all we needed. I
was battling Anthony Rodriguez,
and he was tied with me in the
points, so to come away with
fifth overall in my rookie season
I'm pumped about that. It was a
solid, consistent season." CN
