Blake Baggett was ninth at the end of the opening lap, but managed to work his way all the way up to fourth by the finish, one of his best rides of the year. The Yoshimura Suzuki passed both Short and Peick on lap 11 to move into fourth place. "I came from the back but worked my way forward pretty good," said Baggett.
