Briefly...
With Davi Millsaps out and the 2015
Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Cham-
pionship set to get going in less than
a month at Hangtown, there has al-
ready been some pretty wide specu-
lation about what the Monster Ener-
gy Kawasaki team will do in regard
to Millsaps' vacated factory KX450F.
Some believe that, for the second
year in a row, the team may bring
Brett Metcalfe back down for the
Nationals from the Canadian Mon-
ster Energy Kawasaki race team, as
Metcalfe is slated to compete for the
2015 Canadian 450cc Motocross
Championship. Others have even
floated the idea that Ryan Villopo-
to could vacate the FIM World MX
Championship bid after his big crash
and DNF this past weekend in Italy
and return to his former race team
Stateside. However, the team raced
with just Millsaps throughout the first
14 Supercross rounds this year af-
ter losing Wil Hahn during practice
at round one. With Hahn returning
for the Nationals, it's entirely pos-
sible that Kawasaki's factory 450cc
race team could compete with Hahn
alone this summer.
Although the deal isn't quite done
at press time, as soon as Tuesday,
April 21, Christophe Pourcel may
be found around Southern California
motocross tracks aboard a 450cc
Husqvarna. The extraordinarily tal-
ented Frenchman has been looking
for a home since the end of the 2014
AMA Nationals, in which he com-
peted in the 250cc National Cham-
pionship on board a factory-backed
YZ250F. Although he has had offers
to return to the 250cc class out-
doors, he reportedly wants to race
the 450cc class, and the Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna team is likely to
