ecstatically. "Been crashing and
crap, but I'm stoked to finally be
here and it's awesome!"
Peick has had more than his
fair share of detractors over the
years, mostly due to his size, but
he believes success is the best
revenge.
"I just keep on staying posi-
tive," Peick said. "I don't really
care what people have to say.
I just keep on doing me and let
it rub into them. When they run
their mouths on the Internet and
say this and that, I'm sitting here
on the box doing something that
I like, and they're sitting at home
on their ass doing nothing. So
I'm just laughing at them, collect-
ing my paychecks. It's good, it's
fun. I'm having fun."
Tomac may have been able
to challenge for the win if not for
his terrible start.
"I felt like I had a winning
pace, but I wasn't there at the
start," Tomac said. "I wasn't tight
at all. I didn't have arm pump. I
was feeling the flow, but just too
little too late. I felt like I had good

retroactive 16-month suspension
for failing a drug test for Adderall—a
medication for which he was deter-
mined by WADA (World Anti-Doping
Agency) to have had a legitimate
prescription—at the Seattle Super-
cross. He immediately appealed the
decision with CAS (Court of Arbitra-
tion for Sport), but the appeals pro-
cess was said to take eight weeks,
and since his suspension was an-
