CORSER SPEAKS OUT
I
n a surprise public statement
right after the Aragon races,
Troy Corser put forward his side
of the unfulfilled JR Racing proj-
ect.
"It is with deep regret, and
not a surprise to many, that I
have finally decided to voice my
concerns as to the future of the
JR Racing Team," the two-time
WSBK Champion said.
"As widely reported now by
others, the financial obligations
of the team owners have not
been met. Until now, as far as
I'm concerned, no salaries have
been paid, no external invoices
have been paid and there has
been no reimbursement of out of
pocket expenses. I understand
from the WSBK organizers that
the JR Racing Team has not met
its obligations as regards to their
application as entrant into the
2015 series, either.
"The JR Team's owners
[Chary J. Robinson and Manfre-
di Lombardi] contracted me last
year, for a three-year agreement
as Sporting Director to the team.
We were all led to believe that
everything was in place, finan-
cially and legally, for the entire
three-year project.
"When I read the announce-
ment that they had signed Toni
[Elias] and Ayrton [Badovini] to
the team I was very happy.
"Without any financial resolu-
tion or any serious perspective
from the team owners for quite
a while now, I presume there is
no future for the team. I was an
employee, not a team owner and
not even the team manager, so
I don't appreciate to read here
and there people referring to JR
Racing as 'Troy Corser's team'—
especially in connection with
reports regarding what is consid-
ered as its failure.
"Unless the JR Racing Team
owner [Chary Robinson] very
quickly finds a solution, and
in particular in regards to all
outstanding financial obligations,
I'm afraid I will have no other op-
tion than finding JR Racing Team
in breach of its obligations to-
wards me, and will therefore take
all necessary steps to protect my
image, and my interests."
Gordon Ritchie
Corser's words
state what many
had long thought,
that the JR Racing
project was never
getting off the
ground.
