STAR AT CALIFORNIA CLASSIC

ean Cantrell, Carson Mum-
ford and Max Vohland were
some of the big winners at the
three-day 2015 AMA California
Classic MX Championship at
Glen Helen Raceway, April 9-11.
Utilizing a three-moto format
(one moto per class each day),
KTM/TLD's Cantrell used a mix
of fast riding and consistency to
claim three class championships
on the big bikes. The former mini-
bike racers won all three 250 B
Modified motos to claim the class
championship, while three two's
gave him the number-one trophy
in the 250 B Limited division. He
went 4-1-1 to capture the School-
boy 2 (12-13) title.
Vohland also went home with
three titles on the small-wheel
bikes. He topped the 65cc (10-
11) Modified and Limited classes,
as well as the 65cc Open (7-11)
class.
Mumford, on his 85cc Team
Green Kawasakis, won both the
Mini Sr. 1 (12-13) Modified and
Mini Sr. 2 (12-14) Modified titles,
as well as the Mini Sr. Open (9-
14) title.
Other multiple title winners
included Ryder Difrancesco
(Kawasaki, 65cc 7-9 Modified
and Limited), Jett Reynolds (Ka-
wasaki, 85cc 9-11 Modified and
Limited), Pierce Brown (KTM,
Supermini 1 and 2), Haiden
Deegan (KTM, 51cc 7-8 Limited
and 51cc Open 5-8), and Rookie
White (Yamaha, 450 B Modified
and Collegeboy 16-24).
KTM rider Justin Hoeft edged
out Kawasaki rider Mark Worth
for the 250 Pro Sport title.
The race also hosted a round
of the WMX Championship with
Tarah Gieger taking the overall
win on her Honda. Yamaha rider
Mackenzie Tricker and Kaitlyn
Morrow finished second and
third, respectively. Morrow also
won the Women's 12+ Champi-
onship.
