bomb along with Blais Racing
Services KTM's Skyler Howes,
while Brabec was further back in
sixth ahead of Kamo.
As he'd done at round two,
THR Motorsports/Precision
Concepts/Bonanza Plumb-
ing Kawasaki's Brabec started
passing people right away, this
time not handicapped by as bad
of a start as the Barstow race.
Before long, he had Ramirez in
his sights and the race was on
as those two pulled away from
the rest of the pack.
"I saw Ricky behind me and
I'm like, 'Oh, it's going to be a
long race, for sure!' " Ramirez
said.
But with the narrowness of
most trails, passing opportuni-
ties were limited, forcing most
chasers to wait for their prey to
make a mistake. Ramirez made
none that Brabec could capital-
ize on.
"I knew I just had to relax
and be patient and not make
any mistakes and I'd be able
to get a win, for sure, because
it's hard to pass here," Ramirez
explained. "You just had to ride
your own race and be smart."
"Out here is a little different
than the Southern California
desert," Brabec noted, adding,
"I never really had a chance
to get around him; I was
always just right in his dust,
but he rode good."
Despite his efforts to find
a way past, Brabec couldn't
force Ramirez to make a
mistake and finished just
31 seconds behind after
crashing a few hundred
yards from the checkered
flag. Kamo was more than
six minutes back on his PCI
Race Radios KTM followed
by Purvines Racing Beta's
Axel Pearson.
In fifth was Howes ahead
of FMF 250cc Pro winner
(for the third consecutive
round) Dalton Shirey and Preci-
sion Concepts Yamaha-mounted
Justin Morgan. Rounding out the
top 10 was WFOx Motorsports
Honda's Colton Udall, ADS Motor-
sports KTM's Joshua Knight (the
FMF 250cc Pro runner-up) and
Open A winner Joseph Wasson.

the first two rounds.
