VOL. 52 ISSUE 10 MARCH 10, 2015 P29
also some other parts. Dur-
ing the week we did some big
changes and then fine-tuning
from there. Having two days of
stuff to try was kinda short but
we made good progress. We'll
just keep working slowly. I need
to learn how the tracks work be-
cause I noticed in the first moto
when the track was softer our
bike was better.
…tackling the facility at
Nakhonchaisri.
It definitely helps that it is a
level playing field and nobody
has raced here. I guess it is a
little more jumpy than a standard
outdoor track. Like I said before I
think we will have places where I
am really good at over those guys
and vice versa; maybe this is one
of those weekends when I am a
little bit better than them. On the
days we do struggle then we'll try
to be the best we can be.
…dealing with 101 degrees.
It was hot and I haven't ridden
in heat like this for over a year
and a half; it has been a long
time. It was a pretty big shock—
for all of us—coming from the
cold. The second moto felt de-
cent. It could have been better,
but I had nothing for the other
guys. When we are back in the
States we are training in heat like
that. Now we have been riding in
the cold, it even started snowing
on Monday! That is the shock
factor; going from that to this.
…the decision to cut the
second moto to 25 minutes
and 2 laps.
Red Bud I believe, a couple
of years ago, we had a rider die
from heat stroke. I think when
you are fit and you train in these
conditions then it is not really a
big deal, but I'm talking about
the top riders that really train.
Those perhaps outside the top
10 or those that don't know
their limits and push and push
and push they end up having a
problem and sometimes it is re-
ally risky. I don't think it was a big
deal. Safety is number one; over
everything. I felt that the track
was pretty decent, but okay.
…hearing the Star Spangled
Banner during the podium
ceremony.
It is definitely different and
pretty cool. The only other time
I hear it is at the Motocross of
Nations…you could say it is like
the cherry on top.
…achieving a first Grand
Prix win and where to go next.
With a 1-3? Points wise I won
the overall, but it is not exactly
what I would call a win. It was
better compared to last weekend
by a long way. I need to keep
working on it. We'll stick in Eu-
rope because the team is there
and we need to test.
