WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 10 MARCH 10, 2015 P79
getting roosted, but it was just
exciting, really. It was pretty clean
racing and for the first 15 laps it
was just a full-on brawl. It was a
little bit of a bummer to be behind
there at the start. I wish I could
have given the front guys a little
bit more of a run but second
place is somewhere better for
me from my past experiences
at Daytona. Last year had a big
crash here and never really done
so well, so it was good to get up
here."
The runner-up finish was the
second in a row for Tomac, fol-
lowing his Atlanta 2 result.
"The way my start was I hon-
estly thought I should have been
dead last but came out, I don't
know what it was, inside the top
10," said Tomac. "At that point I
was at the back of that big pack
of guys there. A couple guys
went down and then when those
cross flags were out, it kind of
bunched everyone up because
everyone is obviously taking it
easy through there but usually the
guy behind you can kind of sneak
up on you. That did cause a big
bunch-up there. I wasn't really
doing anything special I just didn't
make any big mistakes and I was
able to sneak around a few guys."
BAGGETT BREAKS OUT
After Blake Baggett's perfor-
mance at Daytona last year in
the 250 class, many people
were picking the Yoshimura
Suzuki rider to be a podium guy
at this year's event. They were
right.
Cole Seely (14)
charged his way
past Weston
Peick (23) and
Davi Millsaps
(18) en route to
a fourth-place
finish.
