A
fter his dominant perfor-
mance at the Dallas Super-
cross in Arlington, it's hard
to believe that Marvin Musquin
missed all of last year's Monster
Energy AMA Supercross Series.
A knee injury kept him off the bike
but he came back roaring at Arling-
ton, grabbing his first AMA Super-
cross win since May of 2013.
Musquin made his return to
racing in the 2014 outdoor series,
where he started somewhat off
the pace but gained speed and
confidence as the series got into
full gear, sweeping both motos at
Washougal. He eventually finished
fourth overall in the final standings.
In Arlington, the Red Bull KTM
rider came out swinging, starting
with the fastest qualifying times in
both morning practice sessions
and ending with a resounding main
event win.
"It's awesome," said Musquin. "I
haven't been racing [Supercross]
for over a year because 2013 was
my last year."
Although AT&T Stadium had new
dirt for the race, the course was
still difficult, and the whoops were
treacherous. It was a tough way to
get reinitiated with Supercross.
"Obviously it was not easy, the
track was really technical and the
whoops were really easy to make a
mistake on," said Musquin. "I really
wanted to be consistent and that's
what I did. I thought I was going to
get it done and win the race, but
unfortunately Kyle Cunningham
went down so we got a red flag. I
BACK
Marvin Musquin
returned to
Supercross with
an impressive win.
