as well as a team with an all-
new bike.
"It always feels good to get
a win," Dungey said. "It's great
for morale, the team, every-
body, and the confidence, it's
just building from here. It's a tall
order to win these days."
And speaking of morale and
going up against a stacked
field, imagine if you're a rookie.

ing off teammate and previous

would be a good idea to do it, so we
put that together. It's not something
that's an everyday thing, but it's just
somebody to have there that's done
it before. He knows how to get the
point across to me without overkill-
ing it. Some people you have around
and it just doesn't mesh. They can
be the best guy in the world but you
just don't link up. I think me and RJ
link up really good and we've prob-
ably got a good, long future ahead
of us."
It's not a news flash that the field is
stacked in the 450 Supercross class.
So what does it feel like if you're a
rookie? Blake Baggett puts it into
perspective with the cold hard facts of
a stop watch. "I think there's two sec-
onds from first to 22nd in lap times in
qualifying. It's unreal. I think I qualified
10th and if I'd have dropped one-10th I
think I'd have been fourth. There were
six guys in a 10th. So it's stacked
but it's good. I got the opportunity to
come ride for Factory Yoshimura Rac-
ing Suzuki and just trying to prove to
them and myself and everybody that I
belong here. I think we're doing that
just by each weekend progressively
getting better."
Fellow rookie Cole Seely also had
a rough start to his season, but has
been progressing nicely with 14-14-
6-5-3 finishes. Getting his first po-
dium at Anaheim III was a nice boost
to that positive momentum. "It's just
momentum in the right way," Seely
said. "Just stoked with all the pro-
gression that we've made. The first
few rounds were not what I was look-
ing for. It's good to come back here
and get on the box for the last round
in Anaheim. I felt like I rode really well
last weekend and the weekend be-
fore that. Like I said, I'm just stoked
with the progression."
Blake Baggett (4) had
his best night in the
450 class, grabbing
the holeshot and a
seventh-place finish.
