MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD
SUPERCROSS
T
he words smooth and con-
sistent don't set the world
on fire, but they describe
Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey.
And that's exactly how he won
Saturday night's Monster Energy
AMA Supercross Anaheim III
race. It's also exactly how he
earned the red plate the week-
end before at Oakland.
So with five races, four differ-
ent winners, 2015 has lived up to
its "who's next" hype.
Dungey's young competitors
have been strong but lacked
consistency, so there's been
no clear-cut front-runner after
five rounds in the premier class.
Except for the fact that con-
sistency, while not flashy, wins
championships. Yes, there's still
12 rounds left in the season, but
Dungey's win and his already
earned red plate makes a bid
for that distinction, as well as his
nice 11-point lead over his former
teammate Ken Roczen in the
Championship.
In the 250 West Supercross
class, Yamalube Star Racing Ya-
maha's Cooper Webb's third win
of the season, makes him Mr.
Consistent as well. Consistently
winning, with the most wins in
his class to give him an 18-point
lead in the championship.
DUNGEY'S TURN
Ryan Dungey won A3 in true
Dungey fashion—being smooth
and consistent—and that is
