WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 52 ISSUE 5 FEBRUARY 3, 2015 P63 Briefly... Brock Tickle sat out the weekend to recover from a back injury from the previous round at Oakland. Tickle hopes to be back riding on Tuesday and if all good the true test will be at the media day on Thursday at PET- CO Park to determine whether he will race the sixth round of the sea- son in San Diego, California. Rookie Aaron Plessinger was thrilled to get on the podium for the first time, but you knew it was com- ing. His scorecard so far is impres- sive: 5-5-13-7-3. "My rookie year, it's exceeded my expectations right now," Plessinger said. "It's amazing. I'm having a great time, even though I got a 13th in A2. I'm still having fun. The third race I crashed and then it was just a bad night. I came here knowing I could get on the podium. I think my starting fourth really helped me out a lot. I'm just pumped on it." His secret weapon? Perhaps could be credited to linking up with two-time Super- cross champ Ricky Johnson as a rider coach. "Started working with Ricky after the first round. We just kind of linked up. I worked with him a little bit back in the day when I was on 60s and 80s and the team thought it continued on next page PAYS OFF It was Dungey's turn at Anaheim III.
