WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 52 ISSUE 4 JANUARY 27, 2015 P45 Briefly... Malcolm Stewart get the win. "It was cool to see him win, to get his first one," said Webb. "We grew up together, so it was nice to see him win. And then Alex Martin crushed it, too, his first podium. I think it was a huge boost for that team as well. It was cool for those guys, but once I saw Malcolm I really wanted to win, but you can't win them all." Alex Martin talked about the impact his podium had on him and his team. "It's great for Cycle Trader, an up- and-coming team, and then Yama- ha puts some faith in them with the motors this year," said Martin. "We have a great package. Cycle Trader came on last year and it really just smoothed the whole program out and made things run really smooth. And also myself, I've been putting in a lot of time in the off-season. I had the opportunity to train with my broth- er for a good month and a half before the season started. Really I felt like my foundation and training was just a lot better to have him on me all the time. I was just happy that it paid off." He got up at the back of the pack then worked his way back up to 10 th . "The weekend was okay," Anderson summarized. "When it came down to it I was up there, but I ended up crashing pretty hard. I'm ready to get back up there next week was a bummer, but I was like, 'all right, we've got to make the passes happen as quick as we can and get back.' And then we got up to Chad, we were kind of right there with him, kind of running the same thing. He ended up going off the track and I was able to move into second. I was able to take the points lead which is great. It's early yet but we need to capitalize on that and build on it." BLACK FLAG TO PODIUM Reed, on the other hand, turned in perhaps his best performance since winning two rounds early last year (A2 and A3).
