"It was all right, it gave me
some more track time," Roczen
reasoned.
In the main event, Roczen
wasn't able to dial in the triple
jump that Tomac was using to
make up so much time, and
his lap times suffered for it,
compared to Tomac's.
"I thought I had the rhythm
and the whoops dialed pretty
good, but I should have done
the triple before the finish line,
it would have saved a lot of
energy," admitted Roczen. "Eli
and I went back and forth, we
had a good battle, but he beat
me straight up tonight. For how
I felt coming into the main—not
sure what it was—but I made it
work. I put in a good battle for
the first 10 laps, but I didn't feel
the greatest, I struggled a little
bit breathing, but I'm going to
work on that."
