SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES ROUND 1/JANUARY 3, 2015 ANGEL STADIUM OF ANAHEIM/ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA P40 the bit to get their first: Davi Mill- saps (twice the bridesmaid), Eli Tomac, Trey Canard, Justin Bar- cia and Wil Hahn. Throw in some unproven rookies, Cole Seely, Dean Wilson, Blake Baggett and 2014 AMA 250 West Supercross champ Jason Anderson, and basically no one but the rider's mother or most loyal fan was go- ing to go out on a limb and de- clare an heir to Villopoto's throne. As for the 250 class, with an exodus of a lot of its top riders, the same question could be asked: who's next? TLD/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/ KTM's Jessy Nelson made his bid at that distinction also with a dominant win at Angel Stadium, leading from the holeshot line 'til the checkered flag to take his first Supercross victory. Keep Calm And Roczen On Despite the fact that Roczen made his mark last season as a rookie, winning two Super- cross races and the AMA Moto- cross Championship, he came into the season viewed as an unknown. It was his switch to a new team—Ricky Carmichael and Cary Hart's combined endeavor, RCH Racing—a team who's best achievement was a podium last season, made him a question mark. The young German sat in the pre-race press conference faced with that question: You've moved to a team that has underachieved what you have accomplished dur- ing your rookie season at KTM, were there any issues adapting to the new bike and team? Roc- zen said no. He was happy to be back to his Suzuki roots and said he gelled well with the team. Pre- race press conference games- A very happy RCH Suzuki Team celebrated their first win on top of the podium.
