few seemed disappointed after
actually riding it. Most praised it
for its fast, flowy nature and how
fun it was to ride.
With both the Pros and Pro
II competitors starting on the
first row, Stover zipped down
the short start straight quickest
aboard his 3 Brothers/FMF/
Maxima Husky TC 250 to nab the
holeshot, leading for a lap before
Godman got past.
Before long, last-minute en-
trant Jeff Loop had his John Burr
Cycles/Hinson/Alias YZ450F
looking for a way past Godman,
who yielded to the privateer after
a couple laps.
"We battled, me and Godman;
we went back and forth probably
five, six, seven times," Loop said.
"It was a lot of fun!"
Unfortunately for Loop—who
was racing for the first time since
the birth of his son a month ago—
his bike wasn't able to keep it up
and after leading past the one-
hour mark, it cried "No mas!" and
sent him to the pits early.
Godman took over at that point
and enjoyed a comfortable lead
over the final 30 minutes.
"Coming out here and getting
the win like this is awesome!"
