bike. The fact that even in Mode 2
default mode, when TC operates
sooner, it seemed to take quite a
long time to cut in. This is prob-
ably a tribute to Honda's system
of combining a reduction in fuel
flow with retarding the ignition,
rather than cutting the sparks al-
together. Like the rest of the bike,
it's deceptively smooth in the way
crossover Crossrunner. There re-
ally is no point in using it.
The repositioned, now front-
mounted, stacked radiators mean
the new VFR800X feels slimmer
and more involving to sit on. It is,
however, wider up front, giving
extra protection even if the taller
screen is surprisingly not height ad-
justable. This didn't seem to matter
it operates, with a brightly flash-
ing "T" indicator on the dash to
tell you when it does so. Then,
in returning full power to the rear
wheel, it did so smoothly. Mode
1 is the Sport mode offering less
intervention. I can't really see the
purpose of it on this bike. Maybe
on the sportier F-model (which
doesn't have it!) but not the
