for myself running over tarmac
dirtied by chalk from a quarry,
which also provided a good op-
portunity to try out the two-stage
switchable traction control (TC)
included as standard on the new
bike—understated, but effective.
The Tokico radial calipers grip-
ping the twin 310mm front discs
are quite powerful without being
snatchy and can be easily modu-
lated. This comes in handy when
you realize you're being a little
over-optimistic on the turn speed
entering a bend that tightens up
on the exit. Just finger the brake
lever relatively gently and the
Honda will slow to just the speed
you wanted it to without showing
any trace of understeer caused
by braking on the angle.
