WEST COAST WELCOMES THE H2 K awasaki recently hosted an intimate invite-only dinner reception inside Los Angeles' Japanese American National Museum in celebration of its newly introduced 300-horsepower supercharged sportbike, the 2015 Kawasaki H2 (street legal) and H2R (closed-course use-only). The H2 made its U.S. debut in Florida at the AIMExpo in Florida last month. The event in California was hosted by Kawasaki Motors, USA, President, Masa Nakagawa. Joining him were Chief Operating Officer, Richard Beattie and Vice President of Sales, Bill Jenkins. During the evening Nakagawa was quick to point out that only Kawasaki has the engineering might to pro- duce a high-performance motorcycle like the new H2, featuring technologies and manufacturing pro- cesses born from parent company, KHI's experi- ence in aerospace. After a brief explanation of some of the tech- nologies that the H2 employs, including an exqui- sitely crafted 12-blade billet supercharger impeller, guests, including Jay Leno, and members of the motorcycle and automotive media outlets were treated to a traditional Japanese Taiko drumming session, calligraphy while enjoying Tokubetsu Jun- mai Sake sourced from the Nada area of Japan. Kawasaki dealers are currently accepting de- posits for purchase of the motorcycles (the H2 carries an MSRP of $25,000) until December 19, 2014.
