MOTOGP: THE ENTRIES ARE HERE
P
rovisional entry lists for the
2015 World Championship
were released shortly before the
Malaysian Grand Prix began,
with shuffling in MotoGP, but
bigger changes in the smaller
classes.
There were no surprises in
the big class, and only one sig-
nificant faller off the back of the
bus – current teammate to Nicky
Hayden, Hiroyshi Aoyama. But
with "to be confirmed" riders
both for the second Gresini April-
ia bike and the Octo Ioda team
(machine also to be confirmed),
there are still a couple of vacan-
cies.
The back-of-the-grid PBM
team is departing, along with
riders Michael Laverty and Broc
Parkes. Alex de Angelis is also
out and will be replaced at For-
ward Racing by Frenchman Loris
Baz, who comes to the series via
World Superbike.
The Suzuki team takes its
place, with Maverick Vinales
moving up from Moto2 to join
Aleix Espargaro on the new
team.
Also new: Marc VDS, with a
factory Honda for Scott Redding;
and the expansion of LCR from
one to two riders brings the total
number of entries from 23 to 25.
Aprilia also arrives, taking over
the ex-Honda satellite Gresini
team lock, stock and barrel, with
a four-year contract.
The biggest headliner among
the new boys is Jack Miller, by-
passing Moto2 completely to
ride one of the much-upgraded
production Hondas in the ex-
panded LCR team alongside
Cal Crutchlow, who moves from
Ducati.
Crutchlow's Ducati seat goes
to Andrea Iannone; his place at
the Pramac team goes to Dani-
lo Petrucci, from the downbeat
Ioda team.
Also new: Michael Laverty's
