"It was rough to say the least. I
just don't know what was going on
in that first moto," he confessed.
"It was a jam. I tightened up and
for the second moto we made
a complete front-end change.
I wasn't riding like myself. We
all fought as hard as we could
and we came up short again; it
sucks. We failed. It is three years
in a row now and it just keeps stir-
ring us up. Maybe we will come
back and get that victory soon."
Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey
has a 3-3 record in six appear-
ances at the Nations and has
perhaps unfairly drawn criticism
for his results and speed in the
last two editions in Belgium and
Germany. His second place in
the first moto set the American's
up to take on the French but
his crash on the first lap of the
last race meant the team had to
lower their sights. "It washed, I
rebounded from it but I was go-
ing slow and another guy drilled
me and that's when I went down,"
he explained. "I had to make the
most of it from there."
The '14 450 MX runner-up
came back to 11th; gaining crucial
points with every rider he could
pass. Belgium's Strijbos had also
gone down in the same sprint
but had recovered and sprinted
