Russell isn't the only KTM-

locking up his first career title. After
running inside the top three all af-
ternoon, Delong seemed to slowly
fade back and settle into the top five,
but it's no indication of his perfor-
mance. Delong admitted that he and
the team made the decision to play
it safe at Unadilla in hopes of enter-
ing the final National Enduro at 100
percent in order to wrap up the title.
Delong added, "Don't worry, it's on
at Somerset in a couple of weeks!"

KTM's Ryan Sipes spent his sum-
mer break racing the Lucas Oil Pro
Motocross Championship as the fill-
in rider for an injured Davi Millsaps.
After an impressive fourth place
overall in the 450 class at the Indi-
ana mudder, Sipes seemed to have
a little more pep in his step as he
battled inside the top five early on,
ultimately finishing 11th overall for the
day. "I'm pumped, I think this is the
best I've ridden all year," Sipes said.
"I felt good the entire race for once
and I was still charging at the end,
which is a good day for me. I could
definitely tell that I've been out of
woods racing for a couple months,
though, because my line selection
was way off!"
The Unadilla GNCC always brings
out a few fresh faces on the front line
and this year was no different. Moto
riders Robby Marshall and Michael
Stryker, to name a couple, mixed it
up with the world's best off-road rac-
ers in the XC1 Pro class, finishing a
respectable 13th and 14
th
, respec-
tively, in the class.
With his seventh
win of the season,
Kailub Russell
is poised to win
the 2014 GNCC
Championship at
the next round.
